#1. The BURNSY PRO

#1. THE BURNSY PRO
Designed by 3x World Champion, Connor Burns, is a surf style board that allows for maneuvers only thought possible on a wake skim board or even a skateboard. Its low nose rocker, hard Stealth design rails and deep concave make it incredibly fast, delivering high-amplitude airs well above the wave’s crest. The straight fin box design also loosens the board to achieve gnarlier surface spins, shuv’s and even big spins

Skim style boards are designed to be fast and maneuverable. They are typically shorter and narrower than surf style boards, with a flatter rocker and sharper rails. Skim style boards are great for performing tricks such as spins, shuvits, and ollies. They are also ideal for smaller waves or when the boat is moving at a slower speed.
Surf style boards, on the other hand, are designed to mimic the feeling of surfing ocean waves. They are typically longer and wider than skim style boards, with a more pronounced rocker and rounder rails. Surf style boards are great for carving and generating speed on larger waves, and are often used for more traditional surfing maneuvers such as cutbacks, bottom turns, and aerials. However, surf style boards will allow you to perform all advanced tricks such as shoves or spins but is harder to learn them because of their larger fins.
One key difference between skim style and surf style boards is the level of buoyancy. Skim style boards are typically less buoyant, which makes them faster and easier to maneuver. However, this also means that they require more skill and balance to ride. Surf style boards are more buoyant, which makes them easier to ride and more forgiving for beginners but some tricks take longer to learn.
Another difference is the shape of the fins. Skim style boards usually have smaller fins or no fins at all, which allows for more freedom of movement and easier spins. Surf style boards typically have larger fins, which provide more stability and control in bigger waves. Thanks to the fins you are able to jump higher and have more control over your tricks.
Overall, choosing between a skim style and surf style board comes down to personal preference and riding style. If you enjoy performing tricks and riding smaller waves, a skim style board may be the better choice. If you prefer the feeling of traditional surfing and riding larger waves, a surf style board may be more suitable.
